   NdxCards is a personal productivity software for the busy student, academic or professional. It uses the idea of a small note card to make note of anything one would like to retain and reuse - an idea, something read or heard, a recipe, some boilerplate text, code snippet, and organizes them using keywords, sources, authors etc.It is easy to use. Get a new note to write with a mouse click or a hot key. Just type in the note; or copy / paste directly from web sites, e-mails, other applications. Format the text style; add bullets / numbers. Set color for each note card. With type-ahead data entry fields that automatically complete and customizing features to remember subjects, not types, and recent keywords, taking notes is easy whether in a meeting or a class, or whether reading from a book or web-site.
Organizing and retrieving notes is also a breeze. You can mark a note with 'push pin' and retrieve it with one-click. Define your own subjects and keywords. Link the note to many keywords. Search for specific note cards using keywords, subjects, dates or a combination of criteria.
The strength of ndxCards is its ability to interact well with standard Office software, making it easier to use the notes you took. You can drop notes into PowerPoint or Visio and analyze notes visually, drawing links between the cards and inferring relationships. You can drop notes in MSWord. You can highlight a set of note cards from the list of notes and paste the contents as a set without opening each note card. You can export a list of actions to MS Excel as an action register. You can organize note cards in an outline structure with headings and export a draft document with a bibliography list of the sources you used.
Collaborate by sharing cards with colleagues. Pack cards and send it to a colleague or a team member. Work groups can build a shared knowledge base this way.
